Bed bugs, Manager is Hateful and Rude

Bed Bugs 🤢🤮. I stayed in Room 51. The manager informed me that he'd give me a whole FREE Month stay at the SkyLark. Thanks!! And yes he's very rude and hateful. The other employees that work there are very nice and polite. They don't take anything personal, they just do their jobs. I took pictures of the bed bugs. I also called the police and made a police report. And I contacted the Human Services department.

Short trip to Midway

My husband and I stayed at the Skylark this fall; we had an early flight out of Midway and didn't want to have to leave our house in the middle of the night to make our flight. The Skylark provided exactly what we were looking for: a clean, comfortable room, free parking right outside our door, reasonable price, and location -- location -- location! The motel is not quite 2 miles from the parking lot we had selected, so we were able to get a good night's sleep, and leave for the airport at a reasonable hour. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and had good lighting. Even though we were right off the street, we didn't experience noisy conditions (the aircraft taking off were noticeable, but after 11:00 pm, this was not an issue). I would stay here again.

Nasty dirty room, heard the people next to us having sex through the thin walls. Someone knocking on our door at 3am asking if their "Friend" was there. I told the female clerk the next day about it and she said "That was just a friend of mine"...Not a nice place, was up all night checking to see if my car had been broken in to.

This room was purchased for us thru a third party. When we first walked in it was...OMG! FILTHY and smelly and scary outdated! Filthy greasy carpet, old beds and linens,gross bathroom (the toilet was tiny and not attached to the floor). Porn on the TV. Half the electrical plugs didn't work. Dull lighting. LOTS of noise and you could hear all the people above and next door having noisy sex. Didn't sleep much because we kept checking on our vehicle too as it is a bad part of town. Bulletproof glass surrounds the front desk. RUN!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Not even worthy of one star.

My family got stranded at MDW for the night and couldn't find any hotels with vacancies in the area. After talking with a lady at the airport so directs taxi cabs at curbside, telling her our problem, she said that the Skylark Motel is around the corner....I called the office and we were in luck, they had rooms. We took a taxi after thanking her profusely for her help. We arrived a couple minutes later, paid the $95 and the clerk didn't have a key to the room, so gave us the master key to let ourselves in. We went up to the room opened the door and were horrified at our findings. The floors were so so old and dirty, the bedspreads were at least 40 years old, and in horrible shape, there was gum stuck to the headboard, the bathroom was real yucky. The thought of sleeping here made me want to cry. My teenage daughters were laughing and crying at the thought of staying here. Husband was appalled but exhausted and told the girls to "not think about it". I left the room to go down to return the master key to the office and began my dreaded walk back up to the dreadful awful room. As I arrived at "our door" My family was exiting the door and said, "we are outta here! " Praise the Lord! I went to the front desk and asked for a refund, which the clerk gave me no issues about. She even called us a cab. While we waited, we witnessed at least 3 short business transactions (truck pulled up, people came out to truck, grabbed something from driver and went back to their room. ) and 2 "dates". This is NOT a place for families, out of town guests or people who need to be near the airport. It is a motel for people up to NO GOOD! TRUST ME!!
